NEW TOYS

I took a ceramics course over the past few months and learned something new. Of course, clay is not new to me, but certainly knowing how to prepare it for firing is brand new. I’d never even seen a kiln before. Sure, I’ve used Pla-Doh* and Sculpey* for years. But creating real ceramics is very, very different.

Hand construction wasn’t a tough transition, but the wheel is a different story. It’s difficult.

​Here are some of the beauties I made, before they were glazed. As you can see, I’m still a beginner at this medium.

I won't get to see the glazed finished products for a few weeks.
